Affordable Premium Feeling Alternatives to Luxury Watches
April 15, 2026I began my journey with one watch for an entire week with zero swaps. My choice was a diver watch from San Martin. It is a clean and simple design with great materials. Specs on a piece of paper would not help me here; I needed to see how the watch holds up in the real world.
The week started on a Monday. My day consisted of running some work related errands and more desk work. I noticed the watch’s presence but I did not find it distracting. After a few days I had begun to stop thinking about the watch altogether. If a watch disappears from your mind it is probably doing its job.
As the week continued I had a gym session on Wednesday. I had to worry about taking the watch off. I had no reason to worry. The watch was built to withstand your typical knocks and bumps.
After another work week it was finally Friday. of. The watch was well-suited for a night out. It is not a dress watch but it is also not a sports watch. I would say it is a great blend of the two.
The weekend was much more laid back. Doing some errands and taking some walks. That is when it really clicked. It is not the watch itself but the San Martin that is just consistently great.
I started my Sunday realizing the watch had no urge to switch. I had that the entire week was no mismatch and no second thought. It did its job and just kept time and fitted to whatever the day required.
Can one watch do it all? Maybe not the finest but for a week like this it didn’t have to.
